Improve Video Streaming - VM818HD

Are you having trouble with video streaming or connecting your baby unit to the parent unit? Here are a few recommendations to help improve the performance of you video monitoring:

  1. Make sure the baby unit is turned on.
  2. Raise the antenna pointing upwards on the parent unit. This will ensure you will always receive the best connection signal.
  3. When monitoring locally, you should see these signal status icons strongsignal1.png signal2.png on the top left corner of the parent unit screen. The bars on the right of these icons indicate the baby unit signal strength while it is communicating to the parent unit.
    • Three bars indicate a strong connection and the video is streaming smoothly.
    • If you only see one bar, it indicates the signal is weak. A weak signal may be because the parent unit is too far away from the baby unit, or sometimes internal walls may be blocking the internal connection. Moving the parent unit closer to the baby unit will help to improve the quality of the signal.
    • Red signal bars indicate that there is no connection between the parent unit and baby unit. This is usually a result of your baby unit being turned off. Please check to see that the baby unit is switched on, then move the parent unit and baby unit closer to re-establish a signal.
